I know this is small stuff but for the BIG PRICE the standard should be high. Some rust was apparent on one of the adder weights upon unpacking and there were some slight scratches on some of the plates. The chroming could also have been better. The adder/ballast weights could have been smoother and machine marks were noticeable on the best end. The fit and finish of my Pro 130 set was fair.
Powerblock review upgrade#
You can upgrade the lesser pro sets but the total cost is very expensive compared to buying the 130lb set. If you think you need 130lbs of weight then get the 10-130 lbs. The PowerBlock Pro 10-130 dumbbell set is the combination of the Pro 90 set with the Big Block Kit included. If space is a premium for you then the PowerBlocks will be hard to beat. plus the PowerBlocks with the matching stand only takes up a very small space. The PowerBlocks really are less expensive than buying a full set of good dumbbells ranging from 10 to 130 lbs. (I look at the price as an investment in my health and no amount of money can take the place of your health and I also have been saving my pennies for them for quite sometime.) The first thing I want to say about PowerBlocks is that they are very expensive. I will review the PowerBlock stand in a separate review. If you purchase the stand put it together first so you will have something to place your PowerBlocks upon once you put them together.
Powerblock review how to#
(Note: The UPS Guy was new and evidently had not yet attended the class on how to properly damage delivered goods.) A word of caution, the boxes are heavy and ungainly so open them on the floor so when the weights slide out of the box they will not be damaged from falling. (Pulling the staples out as opposed to cutting the box keeps it intact if it’s needed to return the product in case of damage.) All boxes were in good shape upon arrival and no damage to the contents was found. Each box was stapled together and pliers were needed to pull the staples out to open the end of the box. The PowerBlocks and stand was delivered via UPS in seven boxes (one box held the stand). I am two weeks delivery from everywhere.) (And Yes, I do live in a geographical oddity. While I could not get them to cut me a deal on the price I did get them to include shipping in the price. I ordered the PowerBlocks directly from the company. Their web site is I also purchased the matching PowerBlock Pro stand. Pro Aluminum PowerBlock dumbbell set from Intellbell, INC.

You can always get rid of them at a yard sale. Here are my reviews of the PowerBlock 10-130 Pro Aluminum series dumbbells:
